Dr. Carol ConradAlissa Wakefield

Live with Dr. Carol Conrad and Alissa Wakefield

Most couples who end up in a quiet house did not get there by fighting less. They got there by being tired of the same fight, over and over, until both of them stopped starting it.

Things are polite and steady. Somewhere along the way, calm turned into distance.

Dr. Carol has worked with couples for nearly three decades. For years she watched a pattern: couples who were doing everything right could stay stuck for five to seven years. Then she began working alongside Alissa, an emotional resolution coach, and the two halves started running together. Dr. Carol works on what happens between two people. Alissa works on what is within each of them that keeps the pattern going. Couples began to move in a fraction of the time.

The idea underneath is simple. It is not a communication problem. It is an alarm: a fast, automatic reaction that goes off before either person decides anything. And one partner can start.

What happens in the room

The Relationship Workshop. The Connection Breakthrough Experience. Live and online, with Dr. Carol and Alissa.

See the alarm.

Result: A name for what has been happening in the quiet.

Problem removed: The sense that the distance is anyone's fault.

A short live experience of the work.

Result: A real taste of how this works, not a lecture about it.

Problem removed: "We've tried talking."

One small thing to do that night.

Result: A first step you can take on your own.

Problem removed: Waiting for the other person to agree first.

A clear next step, if you want one.

Result: At the end you will hear what comes next.

Problem removed: Guessing what to do after tonight. There is nothing to buy to get everything above.

Bring a quiet space and, if you like, your partner. Come together or come alone; both work. The workshop is education and coaching, not therapy.

Where this points

A marriage that gets closer after a hard day, not farther apart.

What couples in the workshop are working toward:

  • Feeling the connection that has been missing for years.
  • Having the conversations they did not know how to have.
  • Seeing, hearing and feeling where their partner is.
  • Having a best friend to enjoy the best years with.

Nothing here promises a result. It is a direction, and the workshop shows the first steps toward it.

In their own words

“My husband and I knew we had a negative cycle we would often fall into. But we lacked the tools and knowledge to change it. This program has given us hope and empowerment with positive models to follow. I feel like we are finally discovering the underlying issues and coming together.”
— Coaching Program Client
“My wife and I have been married 50 years, and still had some huge breakthroughs in understanding and being able to work on the emotions that are the underlying reasons for our fights.”
— Coaching Program Client
“I feel like so many people I know could benefit from this program. Connection is so important and Dr. Conrad taught us how to work out fears and raw spots to get to connection.”
— Coaching Program Client

What you will take away

  • Why the same fight keeps coming back, and what the fast, automatic alarm underneath it is.
  • How to tell when the alarm has gone off, in you and in your partner.
  • A short live taste of the work, guided by Dr. Carol and Alissa.
  • One small thing to try that night, on your own if you need to.

Who this is for

  • Couples in a calm but distant relationship, where the big fights have faded and the closeness has not come back.
  • Couples who have tried talking, books and scripts, and still land in the same loop.
  • One partner who is ready to start, even if the other is not yet.

Not for relationships in crisis, or where there is domestic violence, severe addiction, or an active affair. Those need dedicated professional support first.

Questions people usually have

Does a partner need to come?

No. Come together or come alone; both work. A relationship is a system, and one partner can start.

Is this therapy?

No. It is education and coaching, not therapy, and not a replacement for it. If you are working with a therapist, keep working with them.

Is being on camera required?

No. Camera, microphone and sharing are all optional. Plenty of people just watch, and that is completely fine.

Is there anything else to buy?

No. There is nothing to buy to get everything described here. After you buy, you will see one optional add-on, a VIP hour with Dr. Carol, and you can skip it.

What if the workshop is not what was hoped, or something comes up?

Just email us and tell us. We will give you a free place at the next one.
